"I wanted to work in IT because it something that actually comes naturally to me; like no matter what concepts or problems that arise, like my computer personally since I was a kid or my friends I can fix pretty much anything. So it was something that came naturally to me so I figured why not pursue it."

My education here at Fortis has set me up to succeed. It set me up to first of all to pass my NCLEX, which without that you can’t be a nurse and to be a nurse for me has been remarkable. I feel an amount of confidence that I’ve never felt before, a set of purpose.

I wanted to become a medical assistant because I have a special needs son and I was his caregiver, so I wanted to go into the health field to learn more about his needs and be educated in what I can help others do.

My family has actually shown that they are very proud of me, not because I haven’t done things in the past, but so often they missed out on seeing me accomplish those things, so at graduation I had my uncle there, my cousin there, it was to the point where they couldn’t get in because there wasn’t enough room.

Throughout my whole life I knew that I wanted to help people so I thought the medical field would be a great fit for myself. So once I graduated and became a medical assistant I started.
