Smart systems have been around for some time, but they’ve recently made some big strides forward. Now, more than ever before, people are relying on improved smart thermostats to be more comfortable. In fact, they are getting much better at doing their jobs because of this increased popularity.
There have been big advances in HVAC efficiency, from better filters to improved energy ratings for units. Smart homeowners are willing to spend a bit more today for energy-efficient systems, expecting to save money over the long haul. And, HVAC systems that control the temperature separately for different rooms in a house are in more demand today. These versatile zoned heating and air solutions are especially good in larger homes where rooms that aren’t regularly used may not need to be heated, or cooled, to the same temperature as those used regularly.
As we become more reliant on the Internet and our personal devices, another trend expected to rule 2018 will encompass digital marketing of HVAC solutions. Like any other business, HVAC services that don’t have a digital strategy and online advertising, likely will fall to the wayside.
While we may think of HVAC system as more functional than “sexy,” even HVAC companies will need engaging, visual content to sell themselves to potential customers, So, for 2018, look for more online content marketing of HVAC services, video advertising, mobile optimization, faster website speeds and, like it or not, more Facebook ads for HVAC.
As you can see, the HVAC industry is evolving to keep pace with our technical age. The successful HVAC technicians and owners will be those who are able to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to new technologies. Technicians who are familiar with these new systems and solutions likely will be in the highest demand.
