Before I attended Fortis Institute I was a certified nursing assistant.

I wanted to be a medical assistant to be able to financially be stable for my family. The CNA was not working well so I had to do something better. I eventually want to be a nurse practitioner, so I am taking baby steps to get there.

What I love about my job now is I get to see different patients every day. I get to do vital signs and blood pressures. I get to interact with patients a lot more. I like working with the doctors as well.

I chose Fortis Institute because I thought it was a good school to come to because it has been so long since I have been to college, but at least here they put me in a program that I wanted to be in and I started from there.
