The hard skills:  of course, we are going to look at the job description, so we are going to look at students that come in well prepared.  So we’re going to talk to them about the skills the job requires.

I talk to a lot of students, all the way from 8th grade up and I always encourage them to go into healthcare.  I mean, healthcare’s a sure thing.  We are always going to need somebody to take care of us.

The Director of Career Services helps the student as well as the employer.  When we’re hiring someone, I’m looking for someone that’s looking to find a home.  I want someone that’s coming to stay.  I know that in today’s society people tend to not do that, they jump a lot and I really want that candidate that wants to come and find a place and stay long-term, be a part of our family.
