The mission of the radiologic technology program is to educate competent, entry-level technologists to serve the public healthcare needs. We are committed to providing each student a high quality education through innovative and engaging instruction, and role modeling.
Program Goals and Student Learning Outcomes:
Goal # 1: The program will prepare students to become multi-skilled radiologic technologists.
Outcomes:
- The student will produce radiographs of diagnostic quality.
- The student will demonstrate proper positioning skills.
- The student will demonstrate selection of optimal exposure factors.
- The student will demonstrate radiation safety principles.
- The student will demonstrate proper equipment operation.
- The student will demonstrate the ability to modify standard procedures to accommodate for patient condition, age, cultural diversity, and mental capacity.
- The student will demonstrate the ability to evaluate image quality and make appropriate corrections when necessary.
- The student will demonstrate proper CT scanning skills.
- The student will demonstrate proper scanning protocol selection.
- The student will demonstrate proper positioning skills.
- The student will demonstrate proper equipment operation, including contrast injector and accessory devices.
Goal # 2: The program will provide the means for students to develop oral and written communication skills.
Outcomes:
- The student will demonstrate effective oral communication skills in the clinical setting.
- The student will demonstrate the ability to obtain and record pertinent patient history.
- The student will demonstrate the ability to write and present an informative research paper.
Goal #3: The program will provide the means for students to develop professionalism, and will encourage professional and personal growth.

- The student will demonstrate understanding and commitment to values and ethics.

- Students who begin the program will graduate.
- Graduates will pass the ARRT exam on first attempt.
