Many Fortis campuses provide training recognized by the American Heart Association in continuing education courses such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), or Pediatric Life Support (PALS). FORTIS also offers NAEMT training in Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS), and Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), and our Department of Transportation certifications include Flight Physiology, Advanced Airway Support, and 12 Lead EKG.
Students can take continuing education courses to prepare to be a Nurse’s Aide at many Fortis campuses. In some states these are called STNA or State Tested Nursing Assistant courses while in others, the course is known as CNA for Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Nurse Assistant. Becoming a nurse’s aide can be a very rewarding.
Are you looking for continuing education to learn Phlebotomy? Many Fortis campuses offer courses to prepare students to become a Phlebotomist. Develop a working knowledge of collecting blood with emphasis on patient safety, quality assurance and standard precautions.
Some Fortis campuses offer continuing education courses to prepare students to become an Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA). The duties of an EFDA can and will vary by state so please check with your local Fortis campus for details on the EFDA course offered.
