Graduates will be able to check vital signs, perform CPR and First Aid, assist in medical examinations, perform basic laboratory procedures including phlebotomy and be prepared to work in clinics, hospitals, nursing homes or long-term care facilities.
Our Patient Care Technician program will train you to acquire skills and demonstrate competence in a variety of Nursing Assisting/Patient Care Technician procedures and laboratory techniques, including the Study and Practices of Human Needs and Communications, Infection Control and Safety Measures, Body Mechanics, Vital Signs, Patient Care, Special Care, and Body Systems.
We place an emphasis on the application of knowledge and Physical Care/Psychosocial skills in a classroom and clinical setting and an externship which provides the student the opportunity to gain hands on experience in a health care setting.
