FORTIS’ healthcare programs in Grand Prairie, TX include vocational nursing, medical assisting, medical billing and coding, radiologic technology, sterile processing technology, and surgical technology.

Vocational Nursing (LVN) Training Program: With classroom, laboratory, and clinical experiences, our vocational nursing training program prepares students for entry-level nursing positions as a licensed vocational nurse. As licensure is required for vocational nursing in Texas, upon graduation from the program, you will be eligible to sit for the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, NCLEX-PN exam.

Medical Assistant Program: The medical assistant program equips students with the administrative and clinical skills that medical assistants need to perform their jobs effectively. Upon completion of our program, you will have obtained the required skills in office administration, medical computer systems, and clinical areas, and you will be prepared for entry-level employment as a medical assistant.

Radiologic Technology Program: The Radiologic Technologist is an important member of the healthcare team who works closely with physicians to provide critical information, patient care, and injury diagnostics. This program provides Radiologic Technology training to prepare students to become a Rad Tech ready for entry-level positions in the imaging and radiological profession.

Sterile Processing Technology Program: In this program, you will be trained in medical terminology and the procedures necessary to keep surgical instruments contaminant-free.  Students learn infection control methods and proper techniques to clean, store, and distribute medical instruments for hospital use.

Surgical Technology Program: Our program in surgical technology teaches you how to perform a variety of tasks as a critical member of the surgical team, assisting surgeons and nurses at the operating table. Upon graduation you will be prepared for an entry-level position as a Surg Tech with the skills to prepare an operating room for surgery, ready patients for surgery and maintain a sterile environment.
