Before coming to Fortis College I was in a factory job here, a factory job there. I tried contracting a couple of jobs doing some roofing and gutters and so on and so forth; just pretty much just trying to kinda find my niche before I came to Fortis College. So, overall, it’s a personal satisfaction that I am able to have a stable career, make decent money and just provide a better life and just leave something for my kids.

Going to college it was a lot different than from what my friends did. But I made a lot of friends. I learned a lot from the instructors. I liked it a lot and I recommended my cousin, who was talking about going to college, and, you know, he started thinking about, you know, the field I was going into and I actually recommended him to check Fortis out so he actually goes to Fortis for HVAC now.

I was looking for something more steady and stable, something that I could look forward to for the years to come and not just go job to job. The education here at Fortis prepared me just to get out there in the real world to see what it’s actually like. In my personal life it made a great difference. It gives you more people skills on how to deal with people on an everyday basis. The most influential people here from Fortis has been the instructors because they have automatically been into this field and they understand and they know what the ins and outs is and what it takes to be successful in this.
