The Respiratory Care program at Fortis provides students with a quality education and prepares the graduate for a career as an advanced-level Respiratory Therapist. The program is an advance level program designed to develop the knowledge, skills, and behavior to become a Respiratory Therapist and function as an advanced level practitioner in the field of Respiratory Care. Respiratory Care, also called Respiratory Therapy, is a specialized discipline in the medical field that deals with the evaluation, diagnosis, and care of patients with disorders of or affecting the function of the lungs.
