The Medical Office Technology curriculum at Fortis College in Cuyaghoga Falls is designed to provide students with essential knowledge and skills necessary for entry-level employment in today's growing healthcare industry. Graduates of our medical office training program in Ohio learn general front office skills, including touch-typing, word processing, medical record keeping, medical software applications and medical transcription training. Students get medical transcription training in ICD9 and CPT coding conventions, hospital billing (including UB92 billing), admissions codes, discharge codes, service codes, and revenue codes. The education is rounded out with a solid foundation in general education, including communications, social science and career development coursework.
Graduates of the program will earn an Associate of Applied Business degree which will prepare them for possible careers as front office managers in medical facilities, medical billing clerks, claim processors, medical secretaries, medical transcriptionists and insurance coders.
