Accreditation, Licenses, and Approvals
Institutional and program assessments are conducted periodically by qualified examiners and members of the College’s accrediting body and/or by accrediting teams. The purpose of these assessments is to examine and evaluate compliance of the College’s programs, staff, and faculty with accrediting standards and state and federal regulations.

Fortis College provides postsecondary career education to both traditional and nontraditional students through a variety of diploma and degree programs that assist adult students in enhancing their career opportunities and improving problem-solving abilities. Fortis College strives to develop within its students the desire for life-long and continued education. Fortis College educates its students to help meet the economic needs of their community in entry-level positions. The educational process is a change-oriented approach to education that provides the community with graduates who possess the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in existing and emerging career occupations.

While the primary responsibility for securing such employment rests with the student, the Career Services Department is available for information, contacts, and guidance.

Facilities and Equipment
Fortis College occupies a 39,000 square foot building well-suited to our students’ needs and our educational mission.  The College has a student lounge equipped with seating, refrigerator and microwave ovens. A student libraries/resource center is available with on-line access.

Medical Labs are equipped with the necessary equipment for training medical personnel including microscopes, stethoscopes, blood pressure cuffs, EKG machines, surgical instruments, examination tables, and injection arms and skins. Electronic classrooms are equipped with workstations, analog/digital trainers, function generators, frequency counters, oscilloscopes, and soldering magnifiers. CIS labs utilize essential information systems hardware and up-to-date operating systems, application development languages, Pentium class computers, and network servers.

Business program computer labs include Pentium class computers, and students utilize word processing, presentation, spreadsheet, database, and accounting software applications.  The Dental Program will have 2 operator functional clinics including a sterilization center, dental materials clinic with lab, front office training area,
panoramic x-ray machine, 2 intra-oral x-ray heads, and a darkroom.
 

Fortis College Miami campus offers training recognized by the American Heart Association to people in Miami, Miami-Dade county, and the greater Miami, FL metro area in a wide variety of continuing education courses.
