Fortis College in Centerville

Fortis College Centerville is located on a modern, nine-acre campus in Centerville, Ohio, approximately eight miles south of Dayton.  The school occupies a 56,800 square foot building in which all classes and labs are held.  The campus includes two nursing labs, a science lab, a high fidelity human patient simulations lab, pharmacy lab, crime lab, IT lab, paramedic lab, dental lab, paralegal lab, and a two story 'stick house' for electrical and HVAC - Refrigeration installation skills training, along with more than 200 computer work stations and in excess of 2,000 volumes and periodicals.  The campus recently expanded to an additional 22,000-square-foot building adjacent to its main campus location.

The Fortis College campus in Centerville, Ohio was formerly known as RETS College in the Dayton community for many years.  At Fortis College, we are dedicated to providing students quality, career-ready training in several of today’s emerging industries. We prepare our students not only for future careers but for individual growth as well.  Through written and interpersonal communication, critical thinking and problem-solving competencies, Fortis College graduates are ready for whatever future opportunities they choose to pursue.

 

Registered Nurses in Ohio with an Associate Degree in Nursing may apply for admission to FORTIS College in Centerville in our RN to BSN program as an undergraduate student seeking a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. The applicant must have an un-encumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in the United States.

Fortis College also offers diploma programs in Practical Nursing, Medical Coding Specialist, Dental Assisting, Pharmacy Technology HVAC/R, Microsoft Network Technology, and Electrical Systems Technician.  Students can earn an Associate Degree in Nursing, Medical Assisting, Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic, Computer Security/Forensics, Criminal Justice, Paralegal, or Electronics Engineering Technology. In addition, Fortis’ Distance Education division offers Associate Degree programs covering Business Management (Accounting and Human Resources), Medical Administrative Assistant, Digital Graphic Design, Medical Billing and Coding, and Criminal Justice/Homeland Security and more.

Fortis College Centerville campus offers training recognized by the American Heart Association to people in Centerville, Dayton, and the greater Dayton, OH metro area in a wide variety of continuing education courses.  The Centerville campus also provides continuing education courses in Phlebotomy to prepare students to become a phlebotomist.

Fortis College Centerville is a CompTIA Academy in their CompTIA Authorized Partner Program.  We offer several continuing education programs for IT professionals.  Each is 40 hours in length and offered in the evenings (two weeks) and weekends (two weekends).  Our classroom instructors will present the material, answer questions and assist you with hands-on labs as they prepare you for any of the following certifications:

CompTIA A+ Essentials: This course prepares you to take the CompTIA A+ Essentials 220-701 exam, one of two required for A+ Certification. It is recommended that the candidate have 500 hours of field or lab experience.

CompTIA A+ Practical: This course prepares you to take the CompTIA A+ Practical 220-702 exam, one of two required for A+ Certification. It is recommended that the candidate have earned the A+ Essentials certification before taking this course.

CompTIA Network+:This course prepares you to take the CompTIA Network+ N10-005 exam. It is recommended that the candidate have the CompTIA A+ certification and nine months networking experience.

CompTIA Security+: This course prepares you to take the CompTIA Security+ SY0-301 exam.  It is recommended that the candidate have the Network+ certification, as well as two years of technical networking experience, with an emphasis on security.

CompTIA Linux+ powered by LPI: This course prepares you to take the CompTIA LX0-101 and LX0-102 exams. Candidates should have A+ and Network+ certifications, and one year of Linux administration.
