Health information technology program students are trained to professionally perform office clerical/administrative duties, use physician-based coding systems to classify medical data, use a computer based medical management software and word processing software, work with third-party payers, use uniform billing practices, abstract data and code both concurrently and retrospectively from medical records. The Health IT training graduate can show communication and employability skills and can apply appropriate medical ethics to all areas of the job.
